Fern Acres in Forks, Washington is a magical place and what your Twilight dreams are made of. If looking for a forest ceremony space and covered reception venue in the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend checking out Fern Acres. As a long-time Twilight fan, Kym was drawn to Fern Acres and chose it for their Twilight inspired wedding day.
Ty and Kym were best friends for about 7 years before their friendship became something more. After Ty came back from being stationed overseas for two years, these two became inseparable. Soon, Ty proposed (and the proposal included a helicopter ride, nice job Ty!) and they were ready to tie the knot! You would never know that this wedding was planned in only a couple months and it was so personal, touching and fun all set against this beautiful forest backdrop.
Fern Acres is located in Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula in the town of Forks, WA. Situated on 5 acres of naturally forested land, it is the perfect location for a secluded, magical forest wedding. The wood benched ceremony area seats 150 and is surrounded by moss-covered old growth stumps, hundreds of ferns, and moss draped vine maples. The owners are so nice and it is truly a great place for intimate events and weddings with 150 guests.
In addition to spending time with friends and family, these two had a relaxing and fun day they could enjoy. This meant having beer pong and yard games instead of traditional reception events and Twilight props for their photo booth. It was a day full of love, joy and a whole lot of fun with friends and family.
Making time for Kym’s son to have a first look with her was important and a memorable moment to witness and capture.
Even though it was drizzling during their ceremony, it was still incredible! And with clear umbrellas provided or guests who brought their own, everyone got cozy to enjoy this moment with Ty and Kym. Fern Acres also had burlap covering the rustic benches among hundreds of ferns and moss-draped maples. It was an intimate wedding with a small guest list making the whole day feel even more magical and intimate as we were tucked away in the forest.
Kym walked down the aisle with her son as Ty saw her for the first time on their wedding day. These two opted not to have a first look before the ceremony but still were able to have a private vow reading. Once family photos were complete after the ceremony, these two newlyweds stayed to enjoy the beauty and magic of their ceremony space and read their personal vows privately to one another. (I always step back a bit to give couples their space during this time.)
Fern Acres has a reception tent which allows everyone to stay dry and cozy which was great on this drizzly June day. The reception at their twilight inspired wedding was relaxed and fun. Beautifully decorated and a warm and loving environment as Ty and Kym were surrounded by their closest family and friends. After dinner, toasts, first dances and cake cutting they had cornhole and beer pong to continue the fun time with friends and family.
They ended the night with a sparkler send-off! Always something I love and a great way to end this special day for these two. 🙂 Fern Acres did not disappoint and from start to finish, it was a beautiful place for these two to celebrate their wedding day!
If you are looking for a quintessential forest ceremony in the Pacific Northwest, I highly recommend checking out Fern Acres for your wedding day! With easy access to beautiful beaches on the Olympic Peninsula and that misty Pacific Northwest weather, Fern Acres in Forks, WA does not disappoint!

“I want to start by saying that Ann Marie is much more than just a wedding photographer. Do not hesitate about choosing her to capture your day! THIS IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER! Not only did she capture amazing images, she was there to offer advice before and during my wedding. Ann Marie was calm, organized, knowledgeable, and prepared with a bridal kit and even a cake cutter because we didn’t even think of getting one. She is a problem solver. Weddings are expected to be stressful, but Ann Marie made the day smooth with her experience, compassion, and was in complete support of the bride and groom making the day about us. The photos was absolutely beautiful and detail oriented- Ann Marie was mindful about even small details such as hair ties being off wrists, bras weren’t showing, etc!
Ann’s communication was clear, helpful, and had a quick response time, and has photos planned perfectly. Everything we wanted and every idea was accounted for in our photo schedule. She was also very flexible with adding time to our package and first look photos were delivered the next day. The complete gallery was completed on time! Thank you Ann Marie for capturing our day as beautiful as we saw it. Ty said that he wouldn’t have believed such an amazing day took place if we didn’t have photos as proof. These are some of the most important photos of our lives and we are so glad we had you capture them!”
