Scott & Shira dreamed of a Summer camp experience for their wedding weekend. Combine that with their love for the Pacific Northwest and these two New Yorkers chose Camp Colton as their beautiful forest wedding venue located about an hour from Portland, Oregon. The perfect location for a Pacific Northwest Forest wedding with camp vibes! And Scott & Shira’s dreams of a Summer camp wedding weekend with all their loved ones was realized for their July 2023 wedding celebration!

Their Day

This Camp Colton forest wedding day began with details and individual prep time before their first look together. Scott & Shira included so many special touches to their day that made it all the more beautiful. Some of these beautiful touches included hand written notes to each of their guests left at their plate during reception, Shira had three outfit changes for the day and their choreographed first dance is going down as the things of legends!

Ceremony

Their ceremony included many wonderful traditions from both sides of their family. I can honestly say these two newlyweds were so thoughtful in how their day unfolded and they seamlessly included family into their ceremony, as they truly joined their two families. It was so beautiful to see!

They opted for all group photos to be pre-ceremony allowing for uninterrupted moments with their loved ones for the rest of the day. Cocktail hour flowed effortlessly into their dinner reception with toasts. After cake cutting and dessert, the newlyweds took to the dance floor. As a dance instructor, there was no question that Shira and Scott’s first dance would be amazing but wow! Starting with them dancing together and for each other, their closest friends then joined before the dance floor erupted in a choreographed flash mob – it was incredible! (If I could link Goodco Studios video here I would!)

Reception

Their first dance officially started the dance party for the evening with blow up props floating around, fun sunglasses and music by the Blue Wave Band – it was such a fun time! And the great thing about having your wedding at the location you and your guests are also staying? The party can go on! 😉 Scott & Shira had us hang around a bit for their after party which meant bringing the music inside and switching to a playlist by Scott (who used to be a DJ). Getting to capture this day from start to end was such a treat!
