The Ruins is a unique wedding venue located in Hood River, Oregon. Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Hood River is a great place for so many outdoor adventures! And Dustin and Jackie are all about outdoor adventures together! They stayed in the Hood River area during their wedding week to enjoy the area with family and friends who came in for their special day. While The Ruins venue does not have those Columbia River views, it is a one of a kind location. Dustin and Jackie also added a day after sunset session to capture those Columbia River views as well. 😉
Dustin and Jackie’s wedding was held at the Ruins! The Ruins is located in Downtown Hood River, Oregon, within walking distance to hotels, restaurants, and incredible nightlife! This venue holds up to 220 guests and makes the perfect venue for anyone looking to have an elegant and dreamy wedding. This venue is within the remains of a 100+-year-old fruit cannery which makes this venue so unique!
Dustin and Jackie’s wedding day was such a wonderful relaxed day. After prep, they shared a first look together and time for wedding party and family photos pre-ceremony. They made time for intentional moments together throughout their day as well as special time with their loved ones. It was truly a wonderful day to be part of!
Their ceremony was led by a longtime friend who made their it so personal and intentional for them. Getting to stand in front of all their loved ones who came from across the US to celebrate with them was something special to witness. Their enthusiasm for life and lifelong adventures together was also clear in their ceremony and the wonderful stories told throughout the day.
The space at The Ruins requires what is called a ‘room flip’ where the ceremony space becomes the reception space when using the outdoor area for both. This meant that cocktail hour was held upstairs, in their indoor space. And after the few post-ceremony group photos, the newlyweds got to enjoy their entire cocktail hour with their guests thanks to opting for a day after sunset session for all their couple’s photos together!
Dustin and Jackie started their reception with first entering and seeing the space newly setup and enjoying seeing the planning and design all come together before their loved ones joined them. After dinner they also greeted every table before moving into toasts, their first dance and kicking off dancing. Rather than a DJ, their love of music led them to having live music throughout the night by the Blue Wave Band. They are incredible! The newlyweds danced the night away until it was time to say good night. They opted for a basic phone light send-off with all their loved ones before heading to an after party. 😉
This was an incredible 8 hour wedding day put on by an awesome vendor team! See below for all the great vendors who made it all possible! And I hope you loved reading about Dustin and Jackies wedding day at The Ruins! If you’d like to see more awesome blogs, click here! 🙂
“We had a wonderful experience with Ann Marie. Our photos turned out amazing, and she was so easy to work with…calm, professional, efficient and kind. We did day after photos in the gorge (1 hr session, great value!) in addition to photos on the wedding day. In both sessions we got so many great photos. Ann Marie was working the whole time and captured so much! We were very impressed. Photos came back on time as expected and are great. Highly recommend.”

Oh wow! You did such a beautiful job of capturing their day! It looks like they had so much fun.
This wedding venue looks so awesome! I love all of the details and your photos are perfection!
This has to be one of the most unique venues I’ve seen, it’s incredible. You told their story beautifully, thanks for sharing!
woh what a venue! I suppose the clue is in the name – the ruins.. You did such a great job capturing the day – I can really feel like I was there. A personal favourite is the image as the couple walk downstairs, and you can see a little bit of their guests on the side. Perfection
What a cool venue I’ve never heard of! Such a unique place to host a celebration, away from the traditional.
