There are so many wonderful options for your outdoor Oregon wedding. However when looking for forest, lake, and a waterfall all in one venue that has capacity for all your family and friends – Hawk Lake is the place to go. While this venue was not Tynan + Halley’s first choice, it was a wonderful fit for their day!

Leading up to their beautiful wedding at Hawk Lake in Oregon, we first met Tynan and Halley back in 2018- which seems like forever ago now! We did their engagement photos in the Spring of 2019 prior to their original wedding date which was May 1, 2020. Needless to say, they ended up being one of our early reschedules last year after COVID prevented them from having the day of their dreams on that original date.

They moved their date back one year to May 1, 2021, and even after that, there were still many changes that happened prior to their wedding day to help it all come together perfectly. Thankfully they were able to have their full guest list attend with the exception of the Maid of Honor who was sadly out of state. All of their original vendors also pulled together to make this day amazing for them. It was a day full of wonderful happiness and these two could not stop smiling, laughing, and just being blissfully happy to finally have their wedding day.

The Location

Hawk Lake is a family-owned and operated outdoor wedding event venue located in Carlton, OR. Surrounded by woodlands, this distinctive property provides peace and privacy in abundance. Whether it’s a grand affair of 250 guests, or something slightly more intimate, this property has all the necessities to ensure a memorable celebration. Their Day

I wound up getting a bit attached to these two as they were one of the couples we interacted with for the longest. We also got to know their entire family two years before the wedding and so it somewhat felt like a family reunion for us on this day. Their Hawk Lake Oregon Wedding surrounded by the beauty of nature was full of so much joy and love not only from the happy couple but also from everyone attending. It was a truly special day.

First Look

Taking a moment to be alone prior to their ceremony, these two opted to do a first look. It gave them the opportunity to soak it all in just the two of them. Once they saw each other, Tynan and Halley lit up and could not stop smiling. Such a special moment for them to share on their day!

Private Vow Reading

To add more to this special moment, following the first look they chose to do a private vow reading. Exchanging their personal vows between just the two of them allowed for a much more intimate and comfortable moment that was so incredibly special and beautiful. If you are wanting to include personal vows but are nervous about reading them in front of all your family and friends, a private vow reading is a great option!

Ceremony

Their ceremony took place outdoors in front of a beautifully decorated pavilion. After waiting a full year, they were wed while surrounded by the beauty of nature and the love of family and friends. Officiant Ernie led them in a beautiful ceremony that was customized for the couple and was so touching.

Reception

The reception was beautifully decorated and took place in an outdoor, open tent. It had plenty of space for their full guest list with delicious food by Keith and his team at Your Kitchen Chef and plenty of sweet treats by Bamford Bakeshop. Tynan + Halley also had a super fun addition to their reception day which was the Bar Truck PDX. Such a great way to provide bar service and drinks for your guests! Overall this was such a fun reception with Noteworthy DJ’s keeping the music lively and guests dancing into the night.

Sparkler Send Off

Sparkler send offs are without a doubt one of my favorite send offs to photograph because they are always so fun and beautiful. Before hopping in their car to drive off into their happily ever after, they soaked in the last few moments of their big day while under the light of dozens of sparklers and surrounded by all their family and friends. Such a great way to end an incredible day!
