When eloping in Oregon, it can be hard to determine the location for you because there are so many beautiful places to choose from. However for Kyle and Chloe, when they saw photos of the southern Oregon Coast they knew their choice was made. The southern Oregon Coast is a magical place and what better than to combine your destination elopement and honeymoon by staying at Crook Point’s Honeymoon Cove vacation rental for the week of their elopement? Absolutely nothing! π Kyle and Chloe’s Crook Point Elopement on the Southern Oregon Coast was such a special experience and was their first time to Oregon and the Oregon Coast. How awesome!
When choosing the Oregon Coast for your elopement, the weather can be a gamble no matter the season. This was a September day and unfortunately the Southern Oregon Coast was socked in with sea fog. The Southern Oregon Coast is more often blue sky and beautiful than any other area on the coast however, anything can happen. It was still a pleasant day and while sunset time was not happening for Kyle & Chloe to enjoy, we opted for some blue hour photos to end the evening with which was a lot of fun.
Crook Point is a unique destination venue near Samuel Boardman State Scenic Corridor with 6 venue spaces, an 8 vacation home rentals to choose from. This allows you to stay and enjoy the beautiful space during your celebration. Crook Point is also great because their options are meant for events of all sizes – from destination elopements to events with 300 guests.
I really cannot say it any better: “With unparalleled natural beauty and views, a wedding at Crook Point is nothing short of magical. Our 3,000-acre historic family estate nestled in the southern Oregon coast the perfect setting for destination weddings.” – Crook Point
This location will forever be on my recommendation list for the Pistol River to Brookings, OR area. Highly recommend checking it out!
After months of planning, I finally got to meet up with Kyle and Chloe at their Honeymoon Cove rental to begin their day. This rental is just stunning and has access to their own private cove. This two story home was also perfect for them to get ready at the same time without seeing each other until their first look. When ready, Kyle headed out to their private Honeymoon cove beach before I walked down with Chloe for their first look on the beach. After that sweet moment, we explored the beach a bit before preparing to depart for their ceremony at Sandstone Point where we were meeting Michele of Poppy and Veil, their officiant. (Michele brings her husband when requested as another witness for your private ceremony. I was then happy to sign as witness #2.)
Having a private ceremony with those beautiful views was pretty incredible. Kyle and chloe had also written personal vows to each other that they read during their ceremony. Once the ceremony was complete, Michele and her husband actually headed into Brookings to pick up their dinner for them (pre-arranged and thank you again Michele!!) while the three of us enjoyed Sandstone Point before it was time to depart for the next location.
I am a big advocate on ensuring you are enjoying your day to its fullest including eating meals when you want to, including snacks, etc. For Kyle and Chloe I really wanted to ensure their dinner was not super late but also the distance between food options and where we were was a bit much. Enter Michele, their wonderful officiant who I have had the opportunity to work with multiple times. After chatting with her, we had a plan. She would go pick up food and deliver to us – seriously the best!! Huge Thank you again! And this also worked out great because Kyle and Chloe wanted sushi for dinner and eating it fresh was of course important. π And what is better than having your dinner on a beach that you get all to yourself?
After dinner, we enjoyed the last beach of the day together, exploring all the areas. We even re-named this beach ‘Lord of the Rings Beach’ because Kyle and Chloe deemed that a more appropriate name. π haha These two did not let the cloudy/sea fog weather get them down one bit! But this was supposed to be their sunset time and since they did not get a proper sunset, we opted for blue hour photos back at their Honeymoon Cove beach to fully end the evening.
Thankfully that wasn’t goodbye yet, because I got to hang out with them once more for a day after session in the redwoods. I will link that blog post HERE when it is ready. π An event on the southern Oregon Coast is not fully complete without time in the redwoods, and especially for anyone coming in from out of state! Do not miss the opportunity! π
