The Oregon Coast has so much variety from sandstone cliffs, forests, volcanic cliffs, waterfalls and more. It is a favorite location for so many reasons and a wonderful elopement location choice. Cari and Alexa chose the Oregon Coast for their Summer Adventure Elopement after visiting once. It was such a memorable experience that they couldn’t wait to return. Cari and Alexa came from the Midwest to celebrate their love and say I do. It was extraordinary!
Cari and Alexa’s LGBTQ+ adventure elopement was held on the Northern Oregon Coast at Hug Point and Cape Kiwanda. These two locations are favorites for a reason. Their sandstone cliffs mix with volcanic layers creating some of the most unique backdrops on the Oregon Coast. I love getting to share these unique places with others and was able to help Cari & Alexa plan their day and pick their locations even though they had never been there before. I also assist with planning and timeline creation based on tide information as each beach is very unique with different tide requirements for optimal and full accessibility along the Oregon Coast.
Cari and Alexa’s day was a sweet representation of their relationship together. They enjoyed coffee together before getting ready in separate areas of their airbnb. They enjoyed a first look overlooking the ocean before we headed to the beach for their ceremony. We met up with their officiant Carolyn of @oregonbeachceremonies for their ceremony which included reading personal vows to each other. After saying ‘I do’ and making it official by signing their marriage license and certificate, we continued along the beach to enjoy the area. I love letting each couple lead where they want to go when exploring a wide open beach like this and we ended up exploring all over which was so fun!
After time down on the beach, we relocated for their cake cutting, some champagne time and enjoying the beautiful view from the overlook. Including their pride flag was very important to them in celebrating their day so we brought it with us throughout the day to incorporate.
Once they were ready to move from Hug Point, we traveled south to Cape Kiwanda to finish their day. This location was intended for sunset and unfortunately their day was very overcast on the coast but it was calm and still fun! Missed that glow but these two still had a fabulous time! From a champagne pop and first dance at Cape Kiwanda, to enjoying the sandstone cliffs from below. We ended the evening with a climb up the sand dune to see the sliver of sunset color that was visible on the horizon.
Cari & Alexa’s adventure elopement on the Oregon Coast was unique to them and included all the special moments they wanted. I love photographing on the Oregon Coast! If this is your dream location as well, I would love to chat! And I hope you loved reading about this lgbtq+ adventure elopement! If you’d like to see more awesome blogs, click here!

“Finding Ann Marie was the best thing to happen to us during our elopement journey. Her photos were breathtaking and more stunning than we could have ever dreamed of.
We paid for a photographer but received so much more in return. She is a geographical expert of the Oregon coast. Every beach we considered eloping on she has excellent knowledge of and a photo album to also go with the info she shared. She also provided recommendations for our officiant, hair/makeup and florist, none of which disappointed. She even gave recommendations to go along with our honeymoon road-trip down to the redwoods.
I can honestly say Ann Marie helped make our elopement and honeymoon magical.
To all my fellow LGBTQ couples. It was extremely important that my wife and I work with someone who supported us, as I’m sure it is to you. You are in safe hands here :)” – Cari
“Ann Marie is awesome!!! I would so strongly recommend her to any other couple looking for a photographer, but especially those eloping to the Oregon coast! Our photos came out absolutely stunning and we are SO glad we chose Ann Marie as our photographer.” – Alexa
