Capturing anniversary sessions for my couples is always such a joy for me. Being a part of their big day is not always the end of our journey together as I am often lucky enough to capture following milestones like maternity, newborn and in this case: anniversary. This Zion National Park anniversary shoot with Chaz and Kyn was such a blast. They are an incredibly down to earth couple and their love shown through so evidently in these moments and photos.
These two were definitely made for each other and it was so much fun capturing their love for one another in such a stunning location. Zion National Park is one of the most breathtaking places in Utah. I love the red rock, dramatic views and unique landscapes. If you know me, you know I am always here for a pop of color in the photos!
With plenty of incredible views and sights to see, Zion National Park was the perfect spot for these two to celebrate their anniversary. Located in Southwestern Utah, the walls of the canyon boast beautiful reddish and tan colored Navajo Sandstone eroded by the Northern Fork of the Virgin River. And although this location is not allowed for actual ceremonies, you can do wedding photos here.
Chaz & Kyn live in St. George and Kyn grew up in the area. During their session I learned that every Thanksgiving weekend for her and her family as she grew up consisted of a family hike up Angel’s Landing. The day before their session, my husband and I had hiked Angel’s Landing for the first time and dang.. a yearly family tradition? That;s pretty awesome! And just a glimpse of how awesome these two are making this easy walk of a hike to this viewpoint a breeze and such an enjoyable time. Add in some beautiful January weather in Utah and catching the sun before it slipped behind the canyon walls and the rest was just magical.

Practicing Leave No Trace’s Seven principles when out enjoying the great outdoors and especially our National Parks allows for minimum impact when visiting the outdoors. We all love the many National Parks and want to keep them awesome for many years to come. For elopements specifically this can mean no tossing/littering of items on the ground to celebrate your marriage, no bouquet toss and in general please pack out what you pack in. When in an area that has designated paths, please stick to the path. You can read more about the seven principles and how they might apply to your day here. This is a great way to do your part to keep national parks gorgeous for all!
This session was just as magical as it looks and I loved that these two took time to celebrate their love with a fun anniversary session.
