Surprise Proposals are one of my favorite things to photograph! Choosing to have your proposal photographed can be so much fun and a great way to have this moment captured for years to come. There are a number of ways to do this and I highly recommend reaching out to your photographer to finalize the details in advance as your photographer most likely has experience doing this and some tips to make it extra special. 😉
Leading up to this surprise proposal, Drew reached out to me that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Edith during a couple’s photo session (that would then turn into their engagement session). I was so excited! I love helping people plan amazing moments and especially surprise proposals!
In this case, it was fairly easy. Edith had been wanting couple’s photos and Drew thought this was the perfect opportunity to pop the question. Drew and I coordinated how the moment would happen, what cue word I would use so he could get prepared and Edith knew they were finally getting couple’s photos like she had always wanted so they were both dressed up. With a wonderful plan in place, we were ready! Rather than re-schedule due to the weather, Drew opted to go for it because he didn’t want to wait any longer! And despite the chilly rain/sleet that came at us this was such an amazing time!
From a magical proposal (check out that ring!!) to the most heart warming session with the moody Pacific Northwest weather. This was an incredible moment to remember.
Their surprise proposal took place at this accessible location near Seattle, Washington in the Snoqualmie Pass area. I love this area because there are mountain views, lakeside areas and it is an easy walk around to a variety of areas. Of course, when it is as wet was it was on this October day, you have to watch where you are going a bit but still so worth it! This location is a high mountain lake with the extra accessibility making it sometimes a busy location but with these views, it can be so worth it!
Whether you want your surprise proposal captured or looking for engagement photos – I love working with you to find a location that really connects with you both and creating an experience you love! Coming soon is Drew + Edith’s wedding blog which was such a gorgeous and emotional occasion. Being able to be part of their journey from proposal through to wedding day was so amazing!! Something I will always cherish. 🙂
Adam and Ann go above and beyond. I have nothing but beautiful things to say about them and our photos. Our photos are a beautiful balance between the scenery and our emotional connection. Our engagement session was freezing cold with constant pouring rain- BUT our photos don’t show how cold we are the photos are beyond stunning and beautiful. I am so excited to have them for our wedding and hopeful they are available !

ABSOLUTELY LOVE! This was such a sweet sweet blog to read. Gorgeous photos of this beautiful memory for this couple.
These photos are absolutely stunning! And that ring!!! 😍 Live that they went for it even with the weather… I think the rain and overcast skies added some seriously romantic vibes. Congrats to the adorable couple! 🥰
Aww I love proposal stories, and this sounds like it was quite the surprise! Beautiful photos and location – one of my favorite locations to visit because of its accessibility and beauty!
Loving all the beautiful tones and colors in these photos!
So special!!!! Looks like the PNW showed up in true fashion with some rain but they still had a blast!
This post brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to your lovely couple! How wonderful for them to start this new adventure together with a stunning set of images
Oh how fun are these! What a special moment! In love with each one of these.
