Traveling to Idaho for Asher & Mckenna’s summer wedding was such a treat! We are traveling photographers based in NW Oregon most of the year and love getting to visit so many gorgeous venues. Idaho is a favorite destination of ours and this day & venue has quickly become one of our favorites as well.

Asher and Mckenna’s Idaho Wedding took place at Fox Canyon Vineyards, in Marsing, Idaho. The venue for this summertime vineyard wedding was breathtaking and sat on the cliffs of the Snake River giving a stunning view to go along with the rustic ceremony and reception. These vineyards are nestled in the heart of one of Idaho’s top wine regions and surrounded by the Owyhee Mountains. The stunning views of the river beyond the cliff made it the perfect location for these two.

This was such a perfect day for these two and by looking at the photos, it might seem that this day was flawless from the start. In fact this was actually Plan B for these two but as far as Plan B’s go – this day was perfection. Delaying their wedding wasn’t an option they wanted to and these families and friends came together to celebrate these two sweet souls.

The Location: Fox Canyon Vineyard

Fox Canyon Vineyard is conveniently located just under an hour out of Boise, ID near the Oregon/Idaho border. Overlooking the Snake River, this is a beautiful venue providing views, vineyard, field, trees, two prep areas and more! This venue provides that ideal combination of elegance and rustic charm with many picture perfect locations to make this a photographer’s dream venue. (We would sure love to return!) It is definitely a must see if you are looking for your own wedding venue.

Their Day

Asher + Mckenna prioritized making time for all those special moments on their day. With our two photographer package we are able to capture both prep times simultaneously, making the morning of your day seamless. As with any wedding day, we are with you throughout those moments literally by your side as you experience these moments for yourself. Your wedding day is not a photo shoot but rather an experience. We will guide you as necessary while also making sure you are enjoying, experiencing and living in the moment.

First Look

Choosing to do a first look on your day is something we highly recommend for many reasons (more photos of you two together, more time with your significant other, a private experience, and usually more flexibility in your day). Asher and Mckenna opted for a first look and we are so glad they did!

Mckenna looked absolutely stunning and seeing Asher’s reaction to her was incredibly touching to both witness and capture. They were able to spend time together to take everything in, just the two of them.

After the first look was complete, we took these two lovebirds for a walk around the grounds for their couples photos before inviting their wedding party to join them for group photos before the ceremony. We provide planning assistance for all our couples as well as timeline creation and the more photos we can do pre-ceremony the better. The last thing we want to do is take you away from your guests but we also want to ensure you get all those beautiful photos you have dreamed of. These two prioritized as many photos as possible pre-ceremony and this magic happened.

The Ceremony

The ceremony for this summertime vineyard wedding was a spectacular one. The views of the cliffside and the Snake River below in the background were gorgeous. The decorations were so beautifully made and everything came together to craft the perfection that was their day. Watching these two get married was an emotional one as I felt the pure love that these two share. They included a foot washing ceremony, a private communion ceremony and had their youth pastor be the one to marry them.

After the ceremony when everything was official and bliss was in the air, there was time for just a few ‘just married’ couples photos before reception time. As the light of the day kept getting better and better, we love taking advantage of these pockets of time when they are available to create magic for our couples.

Reception

The reception, like their ceremony, was full of stunning decorations, breathtaking views and special touches. They sat in an intimate and elegant setting with their guests as they prayed, ate, had toasts and enjoyed all their special people being in one place for this very special occasion. Asher & Mckenna also added the shoe game to their reception festivities which was so much fun.

As the evening wore on, we pulled Asher & Mckenna away from the fun briefly for their sunset photos a short walk away in the vineyard. Getting veil photos was a must for Mckenna and it was such a beautiful evening for them!

In total these sunset photos took about 10 minutes including walking to and fro making these moments SO worth it!

After sunset photos, it was time for cake cutting. These two opted for a more private cutting before the dessert bar was available to their guests. With time to enjoy dessert, their first dance took place as the light from their wedding day began to fade into night time. And while the light was fading, the party certainly was not! Sparkler Exit

Sparkler exits are some of our favorite things!! When you think about your day and how you want it to end, opting for a sparkler exit (or something similar) is one sure way to end your day on a high note. This is a fun, exciting and memorable day from start to finish so why not go out with a sparkle!? 😉 For these two, and this day, it was absolutely perfect!
