Eloping at Artist Point in the Mt. Baker Wilderness is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. With sweeping views of Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker, it offers an alpine landscape that feels both expansive and intimate at the same time. For Jenny & Elliott, their Artist Point sunrise Elopement was day one of a multi-day Adventure Wedding celebration. And what better way to begin your wedding weekend experience?

When Jenny and Elliott first reached out, it was clear these two were planning up something incredible. Artist Point was also a big desire but honestly didn’t become part of the ‘for sure’ plan until later in the process and I am so glad it did. This mountain location is a place that perfectly reflects their love for adventure, intention, and the outdoors.

Eloping at Artist Point

If you’re dreaming of your own Artist Point elopement, there are a few important logistics to keep in mind. Artist Point is located within the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and while small, simple elopements typically do not require a special use permit please do still reach out to the rangers to confirm. Larger gatherings, setups (arches, chairs, etc.), or events that impact the area are only allowed in certain locations and do require a special use permit. Please contact the Forest Service ahead of time to acquire a list of current requirements HERE.

This area is incredibly popular during the summer and early fall months, which makes a weekday more desirable. Sunrise or sunset are also beautiful. Don’t forget to follow Leave No Trace principles when visiting—stay on designated trails, pack out everything you bring in, and avoid disturbing the fragile alpine environment. Parking can also be limited, and a Northwest Forest Pass may be required. With a little planning and respect for the landscape, Artist Point offers one of the most breathtaking and accessible alpine elopement locations in the Pacific Northwest. Let’s keep it that way!

Their Elopement Experience

After meeting in college through mutual friends and later reconnecting in their hometown, their story has always felt rooted in both connection and timing. Now, four years in, they chose to begin their marriage the same way they’ve built their relationship—together, exploring, and surrounded by the kind of beauty that makes you pause.

There is something undeniably grounding about beginning your wedding celebration at sunrise—before the world feels fully awake, when everything is quiet, still, and entirely your own. Choosing sunrise also takes an extra level of commitment and dedication. When it comes to the mountains, I do recommend sunrise because it is definitely worth it.

Jenny and Elliott exchanged personal vows as the first light of day spilled over the peaks, soaking in a quiet moment that felt entirely their own. After their vows, the morning unfolded slowly and intentionally. They enjoyed Artist Point, taking in the stillness before heading down to Heather Meadows for a peaceful walk. The morning continued with a cozy charcuterie picnic at Picture Lake, where the reflections of Mount Shuksan created the most serene backdrop.

Once they had soaked it all in, they changed and set off on the Chain Lakes Loop—fully embracing the adventure of the day and setting the tone for the rest of their wedding celebration. It was the kind of experience that felt deeply aligned with who they are—thoughtful, adventurous, and fully present.
